Education and study skills

Study skills programmes for educators and lifelong learners

Perhaps you're a teacher looking to progress your career, and improve your classroom and online teaching techniques; or you might be a prospective student looking to enter or re-enter education after a period away. Whatever your situation, we offer a range of short courses to suit your needs.

Study skills courses and workshops

We offer a number of short day schools, both in Oxford and online, to assist those who are entering or re-entering education to prepare for study. Topics include writing skills, managing time effectively and references.

We also offer Academic Literacy – an introductory ten-week flexible online course for anyone new to higher education, or who hasn't studied for some time. Brush up your reading, note-making and essay-writing skills, and revisit the basic rules of punctuation and grammar.

Our award course students are offered a free preparatory study-skills programme in the autumn.

Join teachers from across the globe to share best practices and gain a wealth of ideas to use in your own classroom. You'll be taught by experienced international trainers, ELT course leaders and authors of teacher-training publications for OUP, Macmillan, Heinle Cengage and other publishers.
